Listed below are some of our Functions as an Association.
- Undertake any other activities in consonance with the Association’s stated objectives.
- Collaboration with other Organizations, professional and non-professional bodies without compromising its status, aims and objectives;
- Print, publish and broadcast through the mass media and publish its own journal, books, magazine and the like on research findings and other activities of the Association.
- Establishment of committees, working groups, and task forces to carry out the objectives of the Association;
- Seek opportunities to voice its views and advance its objectives in national and international forums;
- Promote means and facilities of continuing medical education for its members;
- organize national and international forums;

Dr. Garang Dakjur Lueth MBBS, MD, FCOG(ECSA) , PRESIDENT
Dr. Garang Dakjur Lueth is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the School of Medicine, University of Juba. He was a previous Chief Clinical Director of Juba Teaching Hospital and clinically active as an obstetrician. Garang trained as a medical doctor at Bahrel-Ghazal University and then underwent specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mekelle University, Ethiopia. Garang is currently a Fellow of the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ECSACOG).

Dr. Akol holds Master of Medicine (MMed) in Reproductive Health from Moi
University, Kenya. Her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is
from University of Juba, South Sudan.
While at Moi, she successfully completed her specialist training, and during her
residency at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, she attended clinical trainings in
cervical cancer screening, post abortal care and Emergency Obstetrics and Neonatal
Furthermore, she attended and completed clinical training in Obstetrics and
Gynecology at Senge Peak Hospital, Seoul, South Korea. She has completed her
MRCOG Part 1.
Dr. Akol is currently working as an obstetrician and a gynecologist at Juba Teaching
Hospital. In addition to her current job responsibilities, she is also the Secretary of
Social Affairs of the Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan
Dr, Akol is interested in exploring problems and challenges facing reproductive
health care in South Sudan. She believes that to attain the highest achievable
standards of reproductive and sexual health for all, timely interventions need to be
made on issues affecting women’s health.
