Who we are?
The Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan (AGOSS) is a registered non-profit, professional organization with a mandate to promote professionalism, undertake research, represent its members at local, regional, international level and champion Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights of the people of South Sudan through advocacy, programmatic activities, reproductive health research, capacity strengthening of members, education and training.
Our Objectives:
- To promote by all possible means, and at all times, the attainment of the highest possible physical and mental wellbeing of women, expectant mothers and their new born babies;
- To influence policy, strategy on sexual and reproductive health and rights;
- To maintain the standards of training and practice at all levels in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in South Sudan;
- To promote scientific research in sexual and reproductive health and rights;
- To promote exchange of ideas among South Sudanese obstetricians and gynecologists and other sexual and reproductive health practitioners through appropriate means;
- To promote national and international cooperation with other professional associations with similar objectives for the betterment of sexual and reproductive health services in South Sudan;
- To promote the interests of AGOSS members and take up activities from time to time for their welfare;
- To formulate guidelines for practice of obstetrics and gynecology;
- To advocate and promote high standard of ethical practices in sexual and reproductive health in the Country;
- To do other things as are cognate to the objectives of this Association or are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objectives.
