AGOSS

The Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan held a strategic executive meeting with partners, fostering collaboration, aligning priorities, and strengthening commitments to enhance women’s health, reproductive care, and professional development.

Our Association is dedicated to advancing women’s health, strengthening professional standards, fostering collaboration, influencing policy, promoting research, and upholding ethical practices in obstetrics and gynecology across South Sudan.

Advancing Women and Newborn Wellbeing

To promote, at all times and by all possible means, the highest attainable physical and mental wellbeing of women, expectant mothers, and their newborns.

Advancing Training and Practice Excellence

To maintain the standards of training and practice at all levels in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in South Sudan by providing all the necessary requirements.

Fostering Collaboration in Women’s Health

To promote exchange of ideas among South Sudanese obstetricians and gynecologists and other sexual and reproductive health practitioners through appropriate means.

Pursuing All Cognate Association Goals

To do such other things as are cognate to the objectives of this Association or are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objectives.

Promoting Ethical Reproductive Health Practices

To advocate and promote high standard of ethical practices in sexual reproductive health in South Sudan and beyond.

To promote National and International cooperation

To promote National and International cooperation with other professional associations with similar objectives for the betterment of sexual and reproductive health services in South Sudan.

Dr. Zechariah J. Malel

Zechariah Malel is a lecturer of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the School of Medicine, University of Juba. Malel is currently a Fellow of East, Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ECSACOG). He is also serving as the representative of South Sudan at ECSACOG Council and a member of the National Committee on Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR). Dr. Malel currently serves as the President of the Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan which was established in 2015. Dr. Malel is committed to provision of quality maternal, sexual and reproductive Health services to the people of South Sudan, working with national and International colleagues.
