Message from the president
I am delighted to announce that the Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of South Sudan (AGOSS) finally has a website that will be the hub of all its activities and communication with the profession, partners, and other professional bodies within and outside the country. Acquisition of modern information and communication technology remained a priority in our short-term strategic plans and we have focused consistently in our 7 months of existence to achieve this goal. We are truly grateful to our members who contributed financially and patiently nudged us in the right direction to arrive at this important milestone. We are now certainly in a better position to set standards and our members will from now onwards be able to apply online, access and download application forms as well as communicate with AGOSS through the website.
AGOSS has taken steps to liaise and network with other professional bodies in Africa and beyond and has already been accepted to be a member of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), the African Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AFOG), and the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ECSACOG). This collaboration will open up opportunities for capacity building of AGOSS membership. We also commit to exert our level best efforts to support the Ministry of Health and its partners to improve sexual and reproductive Health Services and end preventable maternal death in South Sudan.
My heartfelt thank you to members of AGOSS, South Sudan Ministry of Health, and development partners especially UNFPA and WHO for their dedication to serving the women of this Country.
